After You Buy Your Fuel Wheels, Pick Out a Gift for the Wife
Posted by Ricky on 9th Feb 2017
You did your taxes and discovered you are getting back a bit more than you expected. This is really great news because now you can buy that new set of Fuel wheels you have wanted for a very long time and you will have enough money left over to buy your wife a really big bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s Day, or a really nice top from Macy’s.
Let’s stop you right there. Perhaps you have a shortened attention span or poor memory, but do you remember what happened last year on Valentine's Day? You bought the wife a nightgown from JCPenny that was not only in a color she hated, but it was also three sizes too big. Yes, you did. She was furious and made you sleep on the couch for two weeks and only relented when you promised her a new set of Nitto Ridge Grappler tires for her Jeep.
There is nothing as frightening as a woman scorned, especially one who is scorned on Valentine’s Day. Let’s face it, that wasn't the only poorly-chosen gift you have ever given the love of your life. Do you recall how things went from good to really, really bad after you presented her with a Hoover Vacuum on your 4th anniversary? And then there was the Victoria Secret snafu that totally ruined her 30th birthday party. You know, the one where all of her family members were there watching as she opened the gifts. Her grandparents are still recovering from that fiasco.
We could go on indefinitely, but we think you get the point. You do a lousy job picking out gifts. And while we are sure you will pick out an awesome set of truck wheels, you will definitely need some help picking out what to get your sweetie for Valentine’s Day. Because if you don’t heed our advice, you will be sleeping in your truck for a very long time.
Adopt a Pet
If you already have three cats, a rottweiler and a goldfish for little Suzy, skip this and move on to the next suggestion. If not, there are very few things as satisfying as adopting a pet. She is sure to fall in love with a puppy, kitten or little bunny rabbit that you pick out for her. This is definitely a good choice for a gift that will melt her heart.
Skywriting
Want to impress and awe your partner in life? Hire a pilot to scrawl something romantic across the horizon. Find a quote from a chick-flick or romance novel to convey a message of eternal love. She will love this even more if you present this gift to her in front of an audience. Just make sure you edit your message for spelling errors and what not.
Shoes
It’s no secret; women love shoes and the gift of shoes this Valentine’s Day will surely put you on her “good” list. Don’t know what type or style of shoes to buy or her shoe size? No problem. Sneak into her closet to check the size shoe she needs and just ask the shoe clerk what she would wear. It’s a flawless strategy, unless the shoe salesman in a man.
Spa Gift Card
This is a great gift and very easy to obtain, just go online and buy her a gift card from one of the local spas. Your wife will jump at the chance to get away from you for a few hours of relaxing spa treatments. She deserves it.
Personalized Item
There are a huge number of things you can give her for Valentine’s Day, from simple ornaments to useful tools, that can be personalized with sweet sentiments or her name. Sure, many of these items are merely small trinkets with little value, but having them engraved means you went the extra step, put forth the effort and was thoughtful enough to add symbolic value to it.
Cool Gadgets
The Valentine’s Day gift you buy for the mother of your children doesn't have to be fluffy, cuddly, heart-shaped or breathing for it to be appreciated and loved. There are plenty of practical things out there that are very romantic if you really think about it.
For example, get her the latest Bluetooth noise-canceling headphones. This way, she can enjoy her music without having to mentally drown out the children’s screams. And when you start talking about football again, she can quietly slip on her headphones and drift into peaceful bliss.
A Romantic Getaway
If you are feeling amorous, tell her your Valentine’s Day gift to her is a romantic getaway. There are no rules that state your gift can only be enjoyed by her. You need some time away from the kids as well.
Pack up the truck and take her to a secluded mountain resort or a quaint hotel downtown. It really doesn’t matter where you go or what you do, as long as you do it together.
