Even then, those words may still ring hollow for weeks or even months before they disappear under another layer of grime.

Location

The frequency in which you wash your truck also depends on your geographical location. If you live in an area near the ocean, near trees, near construction sites, in a place that has a lot of bugs, in an urban area with a lot of pigeons, in a rural area with a lot of pigeons or in an area where there is a lot of dust and dirt, then you need to wash your truck more often.

Storage Options

Consider where your truck is when you are at work or when you are at home. If you park your truck in your garage at home and in a covered area while you are at work, then you may not have to wash it quite as often.

If you don't have a garage and park your truck in the driveway under a tree full of pigeons or are forced to park your truck in an open parking lot at work under a tree full of pigeons, you might want to consider washing your truck more often.

Dirt Does Damage

Dirt on your truck is more than just an unsightly annoyance, it can be very damaging. Dirt that is left unchecked on your truck can scratch your paint. This will force you to have to get a second job in order to buy another pickup truck.

Fuel Efficiency

The dirt on your truck creates drag, which causes it to burn more fuel. Trucks aren't noted for their great fuel economy, and this certainly doesn't help. In fact, studies show that clean trucks are as much as 10 percent more fuel-efficient. You can't make this stuff up.

Safe Driving

Prevent Illness

If you take a few minutes every week wiping down your truck and keeping it at least a little clean, chances are you are keeping the spreading of germs down to a minimum. Then think about how many times you touch your truck over the course of a day; now stop and think about what germs are on your hands right now. Now, get up and go wash your truck before you get the flu.
