Summer will soon be gone; the days are already getting shorter and the temperatures have been getting cooler. And while you might be fussing over the leaves starting to fall on your lawn, the autumn colors in the mountains and forests of America are something everyone should see. While many of you will spend this autumn parked on your couch watching football, those with a sense of adventure and an eye for beauty will be traveling the nation’s roads seeking the best fall foliage.

Anybody can travel the paved roads and find great spots to see the colors of fall. But those who own trucks or other off-road vehicles with Fuel Forged wheels and Nitto Ridge Grappler tires are able to traverse the rocky and otherwise treacherous back roads and find truly amazing places to see all the reds, golds and yellows trees in the fall have to offer.

Here are a few choice locations that we think is well worth the drive.

New England

For postcard-worthy autumn scenery, New England’s fall colors are always off the charts. If you want a picturesque scene, traveling through the Berkshire Mountains is a must. A popular route is Mohawk Trail which winds through the mountain range past several quaint New England towns. It will be a legendary trip.

Colorado

If you happen to find yourself in Colorado during the fall season, you are one lucky cowboy. Fall is the time of year when Aspen is ablaze in gold. Colorado’s famous Aspen trees are seas of yellow broken up by scattered evergreens on the mountains. If you find yourself in Northern Colorado, or NoCo as the locals call it, take the time to drive U.S. 34 from Loveland to Estes Park for some breathtaking beauty.

North Carolina

Nestled in the foothills of western North Carolina lies Asheville, a spectacular place for leaf watching. You can enjoy all the colors of fall while driving your truck on the trails over the Appalachian Mountains.

New York

The Big Apple isn't the only destination if you are traveling through New York state, there are plenty of other options. For example, you can see wonderful fall foliage at Lake Otsego and go leaf watching at Glimmerglass State Park. Both are very exciting and very colorful trips you are sure to enjoy. But if you instead in visiting New York, you can still catch some great fall colors in Central Park.
