Truck Wheels and Bad Drivers

29th Jun 2018

We are willing to bet every hack comic out there has some sort of talking point about bad drivers. And we are also willing to bet that most of the bad drivers they talk about are the same tailgaters, cell phone users and people who forget to turn off their blinkers that we have heard, like, a million times.

What they all seem to miss is that there are bad drivers out there that you don't hear too much about. Nevertheless, they do exist and they tend to ruin your day. BB Wheels, your source for truck wheels, presents bad drivers that nobody complains about.

Slow Drivers in Denial

In general, slow drivers are oblivious to the fact they are slow drivers. But there are some who are actually in denial. And as you pass a slow driver in denial, they get angry and speed up. They think that for whatever reason, they are being judged by the speed they are driving.

So when you try to pass them, they speed up as if they are suddenly aware they were going 20 mph under the speed limit. Of course, this burst of speed is temporary and within a few minutes, they are back to crawling along yet again.

Idiots Who Hang in Your Blind Spot

Responsible drivers are well aware when they are in another vehicle’s blind spot and do what needs to be done to rectify the situation.

Sometimes someone unknowingly drifts into your blind spot and you either speed up or slow down to help them out. But for some unknown reason, there are fools who match your speed and stay ninja for miles.

Camping for a Parking Space

And then there are those who will camp out in the middle of the parking lot waiting for a space that isn't going to be free anytime soon. In fact, it could take the lady with six kids 20 minutes to load the 23 bags of junk food she just bought at Walmart in her station wagon.

The worst thing is that parking lots are narrow and you have no choice but to wait. You consider backing up, but then realize by now you have 26 cars backed up behind you.

Drivers Who are Too Friendly

There is a serious lack of civility on our roads, but sometimes people who are overly friendly can be just as frustrating.

Take, for instance, the kind-hearted driver who will let a car in when merging from a lane that is ending. Letting one or two cars in is just fine, but some people feel the need to let everyone in. The next thing you know, you are at a complete standstill while a stream of cars is being let in.

This can also happen at four-way stops when Mr. or Mrs. polite sits at the stop sign and waves everybody through.

Passing for No Actual Advancement

There are plenty of people on the road who are in a big hurry and can be very rude and dangerous when they pass you. We all know about this. At least, there are times when you are in a hurry and you can get why they do it.

But what is the point of passing you when it only gains them one car length? They must be happy they just shaved 1.2 seconds off their commute.

Perfectly Timed Lights

Whenever you miss a traffic light because some fool was too busy on their phone or just not paying attention is frustrating. It is 20 times worse when they putz along to the light at 2.4 mph, only to gun it as the light turns yellow, leaving you to have to wait another cycle.

Fear of Concrete Barriers

Freeway planners don't have a whole lot of faith in drivers, this is quite obvious when you see concrete barricades. They put up concrete barricades to keep drunks and other idiots from driving off a cliff or into oncoming traffic.

Which is fine, except it creates a whole different kind of problem. Often, concrete barriers are pretty close to the lane and they will terrify some drivers. The sensible thing to do would be to just change lanes, but stubborn people stay in the scary lane and are constantly veering towards you and hitting their brakes.

Those Who Give Half the Road to Cyclists

Just as there are people who are terrified of concrete barriers, there are people who are terrified of cyclists. They are so terrified that they give them the entire lane when passing them.

Look, we know many roads are narrow and the last thing you want to do is swipe a cyclist, but veering 40 feet away from them is creating a dangerous situation to everybody else on the road.

Think about all of the bad drivers you encounter when ordering your truck wheels from BB Wheels.
