Truck Wheels and Fighting Boredom

14th Jul 2017

You just bought a set of truck wheels from us and had them delivered right to your doorstep free of charge. You tossed them in the back of your truck, drove down to the local tire store and schedules to have them installed.

Now, you are sitting around the house with nothing to do waiting for your truck to get the new truck wheels installed.

You are so bored that even listening to your Nickelback album pops into your mind as a way to pass time. There is no need to go to such extreme measures. Here is a list of things you can do to pass the time and ease your boredom.

Pretend You're a Robot

Walk up and down your street with mechanical movements while making a low buzzing noise with each motion. At some point, pretend to break down and stand as still as possible for about 10 minutes.

Practice Your Jedi Mind Tricks

Stand on a busy street corner and try to use your mind to control other people. You really need to sell it so place your fingers on your temples and scrunch up your face as hard as you can.

The law of averages dictates that if you do this long enough, sooner or later one of your mind commands may actually happen. This is when you can tell everyone else you have become a Jedi Master.

Don’t Think About Penguins

You are losing the game as long as you are thinking about penguins. The problem is that when you forget about penguins you forget you were playing a game.

How Long Can You Hold a Note?

Inhale as deep as you can and see how long you can hold a note. Once you have established a number, work diligently to try to beat it.

Stars and Flashes

Blink your eyes rapidly for about a minute, hold them closed tight and enjoy the interesting light show.

Repeat a Word Until it Loses All Meaning

Pick a random word from a book or magazine and repeat over and over and over until it sounds like a garbled mess and no longer has any meaning. Then pick another word and do it all over again.

Make Star Trek Noises

Pretend to be a character in any of the Star Trek series and make Star Trek noises. Go to your local bank, stand next to the elevator and make the Star Trek door opening and closing noise every time somebody gets on or off the elevator.

To enhance your Star Trek experience, end all conversation you have with, “Aye, Captain.”

Invent a Twitch

This one is really fun. Invent a twitch, preferably somewhere on your face and involving at least one of your eyes. Walk through the local mall perfecting your twitch and every once in awhile, break out in sporadic coughing fits.

Make a Buzzing Noise

Make a low-pitched buzzing noise while hanging out at the library. Make sure you keep a straight face and act nonchalant as possible.
