​Truck Wheels and Reasons Not to Buy a Minivan

Here is a word of advice for all of you young couples out there who are debating whether or not to buy a minivan: Don’t.

Minivan owners aren’t happy people. Think about it, how many minivan drivers do you see smiling? Of course, this could be because they have a load of screaming, crying kids in their minivan, but we guess there is a lot of shame in driving a minivan. This is why you don't see them smile.

Also, owners of minivans don't smile because they are never going to happy places. Go ahead and check out the Walmart parking lot, we guarantee it’s full of minivans. So is the parking lot and drive through at McDonald’s. And we are quite sure nobody is smiling.

One Bad Choice Leads to Another

We aren't sure where it starts, but we think it is when young couples make the decision to buy a minivan. It is a bad decision that, unfortunately, negatively affects them the rest of their lives. You see, they start off with a minivan, and then they trade that in for another minivan. After the kids grow up and move away, they trade the minivan in for Hyundai Elantra.

You see, it never gets better for them.

Even after the kids are grown and have flown the coop, mom and dad are still driving a boring car and going to boring places. Scour the parking lot at the flea market and you are sure to spot several Hyundai Elantras. You will also see them at New Age shops and Jazz festivals.

And where do things go from here? Well, as they age, the couple will certainly want to trade the Hyundai Elantra in for a Buick Regal that screams “beware, old folks driving.”

And of course, you will see their Buick Regal parked either at Perkins or Walgreens.

But had they made the right decision when they were young, life would have been very different.

Now, had they bought an SUV or a pickup truck instead, they wouldn't have lived such dreadfully boring lives. This is because people who own SUVs or pickup trucks are happy people who go to exciting places that make them smile. They smile because they are happy.

Basically, your life is better all because you made the right decision all those years ago and didn't buy a minivan.
