Truck Wheels and RVs

4th Aug 2017

In our blogs, we talk a whole lot about truck wheels and pickup trucks in general. We like trucks and the wheels that make them look so sweet.

We also talk an awful lot about all of the great things you can do with your truck. For example, you can tow a lot of things with your truck, like a boat or a trailer. You can also carry big loads with your truck.

But today, we are going down a different path and will not be discussing trucks, so to speak. We are here to give you some very good reasons why you should buy or rent an RV and travel across the country.

Sounds pretty crazy, doesn’t it?

The thing is, there are some very compelling reasons to make such a journey. So forget about your truck and your truck wheels for a few minutes and read up on why an RV trip across the states is actually a good idea.

All of the Comforts of Home

With an RV, you have the best of both worlds. You get to enjoy the great outdoors in all of its glory with more than just a tent to sleep in. As you might already know, RVs are well-equipped with all of the modern conveniences you love to utilize.

Your RV will have a microwave, stove, air conditioner, refrigerator, dining area and a bathroom with a shower. That’s right, a bathroom with a shower. Don't look now, but the spouse was reading over your shoulder and a smile beamed on her face when she read that.

While it’s nice to get back to nature and rough it from time to time, you have to admit it would be nice to wake up on a camping trip, pour yourself a hot cup of coffee and conduct your business in the throne room.

Family Matters

Your spouse and the kids want to spend as little time as possible on the road in your truck. Let’s face some facts; kids get bored real quick when traveling a long distance, even in your truck where they have iPhones, iPads and other electronic devices. Mainly because they are stuck in a car seat.

And your spouse grows tired, very quickly we might add, of the kids whining because they are bored or that they have to go to the bathroom. There must be a way to keep everybody happy on a long trip.

Stop for a moment and think about that cross-country trip in an RV.

While you are up front driving to said destination, the family is in the back doing basically what they do on any normal day at home. The wife is reading a magazine and sipping a cup of hot tea and the kids are coloring or making animals with Play-Doh or trying to zip up their britches after using the bathroom.

That’s right, you don't have to stop every 45 minutes for a bathroom break when driving the RV. The family is quiet and content and you can focus on the lovely drive you are so enjoying.

Campgrounds

When it comes to campgrounds, your choices are nearly unlimited. You will want to choose a campground with amenities that are important to you. For example, you may wish to choose a campground with lakes for boating, hiking trails and tennis courts. If you are traveling with kids, choose a campground with miniature golf, a game room and a playground.

Many campgrounds will also be in close proximity to area attractions like movie theaters, fine dining and museums. Did we say museums? What we meant was McDonald’s, many campgrounds are near McDonald's.

Flexibility

When traveling in an RV, you hold the ability to change your destination on a whim should the need arise. Say, for example, you call into a radio station and win tickets to Blue Oyster Cult at the Boston stop of their “Metamucil” tour. That’s great, but you are headed to Topeka, Kansas to visit your wife’s great aunt.

That’s not a problem.

Because you are driving an RV, changing plans is a simple and painless process. You see, since the RV can house the family, there was no need to book a hotel. Since you don't have to cancel a room, you simply skip your visit to your wife’s great aunt and head to Boston for what is sure to be a killer show.

You Have a Toilet

Yes, we did mention this before, but it is so critical we feel it deserves its own header.

Travel at Your Own Pace

The time you take to get from your starting point to your destination really doesn't matter when you are driving an RV. You could take 6 days to travel 500 miles if you so desire.

You see, there is a lot going on between where you are right now and where you want to wind up. Say, for example, you come upon a sign to see the world's best ball of twine or the world's biggest reptile garden, these are destinations you can’t pass up.

Fido Can Come With You

There is no need to send Fido to the boarding house. At least, not if you are traveling in an RV.

As you can see, there are any number of excellent reasons you might want to buy or rent an RV for your next vacation. It might not look as good as your pickup truck, but it does have a bathroom.
