You Might Think Your Big Truck with the Fuel Forged Wheels and Nitto Ridge Grappler Tires Will Get You Out of Any Pickle

Every truck and SUV should have a winter survival kit, it could be a way to get you out of a sticky situation when the weather is at its worst. Now, you might think your big truck with the Fuel Forged wheels and Nitto Ridge Grappler tires will get you out of any pickle, but then, you would be naive to think this. Consider this: Trucks and SUVs get stuck in snow too and can leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere in harsh weather conditions.
This is exactly why you want a survival kit tucked away in your truck or SUV. After all, it is better to be safe than wind up stuck and wishing you were better prepared. Here are a few things you need to include in your winter survival kit.
Illumination
Make sure you have a quality flashlight tucked away in your survival kit, with backup batteries as well. You will also want flashers that can be set up to alert others that you are stranded. Flares might seem a bit outdated, but the heat they put out keeps them from being obscured by driving snow.
Shovel
Unless you think you can dig out of as rut using your hands, you might want to make sure you have a shovel packed away in your kit. This will help plenty when you get stuck in the snow.
Blanket and Other Warmers
It’s cold in the winter and you cannot rely on your heater to keep you warm if you happen to become stranded or stuck. If your truck won't start. You need ways in which you can stay warm as building a fire might not be a viable option. To keep warm, have a blanket packed away, a nice warm one, and it would help if you also had hand warmers, wool socks or anything else you can think of that will keep you warm.
Food and Water
Although it is very rare that anybody would be stranded in a blizzard for more than a few hours or a day at most, it is still important you have food and water. A few bottle of water and some energy bars can make a bad situation much more comfortable.
Phone Charger
Your cell phone or smartphone is your primary means of rescue, you will want to make sure you have the ability to keep it charged. A car charger is a good idea, but you will also want a charger that works even when your truck battery is dead.
Windshield De-Icer
A bottle of de-icer is the difference between seeing out the windshield in a freezing blizzard and not seeing anything. Also, this stuff is great for melting the ice of truck parts.
